Arguably the most recognizable trumpet player on the planet today, Mr. Chris Botti is an international star in the pop world as well as an award winning artist and composer.

Chris Botti left Indiana University during his senior year for short tours with Frank Sinatra and Buddy Rich. In 1985, he moved to New York City to hone his craft as a studio musician. By the 90's Botti was recording and performing with such artists as Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, Bette Midler, Joni Mitchell, Natalie Merchant, Scritti Politti, Roger Daltrey, and the Brecker Brothers, as well as an amazing ten year touring and recording relationship with the legendary Paul Simon. Botti was everywhere and working with everyone, and Grammy nominations and wins started stacking up. A series of very successful solo albums and projects continues to garner awards and recognition. Botti's career soared further with his work touring and recording with Sting.

Botti is very busy and highly visible, producing specials for PBS, and working with a wide array of artists like David Foster, Bill Bruford, Tony Levin, Burt Bacharach, Gladys Knight, Jill Scott, Yo-Yo Ma, Steven Tyler, Josh Groban, Katharine McPhee, John Mayer, Arturo Sandoval, Claudio Roditi, Michael Bublé, James Taylor, Rod Stewart, Mark Knopfler, George Benson, Vince Gill, Barbara Streisand and more. An amazing career to be sure!

This mouthpiece was designed by the great Claudio Roditi as a gift for his friend Chris Botti. Exact specs and details are no longer available, unfortunately, but this mouthpiece is a twin to the one presented to Botti. It is a somewhat larger diameter than the NY 3 that Botti is known for playing. Flat, narrow rim with rounded outer edge. Fairly large deep V cup, rim diameter appears to measure at 0.682, putting it in the Schilke 17 range. Rich, dark tone with clean articulation and comfortable rim. The very elegant shape is meant to resemble a 1920's-era mouthpiece. This would be an elegant jazz mouthpiece as well as a collector's item.

  • 0.682" Inner Rim Diameter

  • # 26 Throat

  • Deep, Sonorous Cup

  • Elegant shape
